Yep, after 4 years of working on nursing school prerequisites, applying to a couple of fancy fast-track midwifery schools (UCSF, Yale), I've finally gotten into CSU Chico's School of Nursing!
It's crazy because I've really been working on this for so long, and the fact that it's now reality hasn't quite sunk it yet. My first day of school in in fours days, and I'm sure once classes and clinicals start, there won't be any doubt in my mind anymore!
I am both ecstatic and sad to not be able to do birth doula work anymore while I'm in school. It's a choice I've made for myself so I don't get too burned out. There are plenty of other awesome doulas out there just begging and waiting to help you have your best birth.
I will still be offering placenta encapsulation to Butte and Tehama County mamas, through my site Mother Roots Placenta.
